Plan Your Perfect Holiday Calendar
Updated 1st July 2019
Deciding a traveling date can be tiresome. You have picked your destination, all set for a wonderful trip but your leave request won't get approved. Or flight tickets are very much higher than usual on those dates.
So it's very much important to plan your travel dates. For me, it is the most critical area of a traveler. Here are some tips which I follow to set my calendar, hope it will help yours.
Plan Your Budget
Budgeting is the most important part of a planned trip. I want to see the whole world but that's not practical right!!
So I have to plan accordingly to travel most of them with a minimum budget.
I personally spend my 60% of income on traveling. It depends solely upon you how much you want to spend. Divide that % on your trips.
Like if you want 4 trips a year and want to spend 40% of your income, then divide budget like 10+10+10+10 or 20+5+5+10 like that.

Aim for Off Seasons
Yes!! It's CHEAPER!!!!
Off-seasons are the best for budgeted travels. You will get everything in half price from accommodation to food.
For me off season is great cause no crowd. I can roam around peacefully. It's best to know the place and people better.
You can enjoy the place at fullest. Cause every destination has got its own beauty and offers in each season.

Pick Places From Your Wish List
Everyone has a traveling wish list. So do I. But I create this list 1st of Jan every year. So that I can plan & focus only on those places. My list is also a mixture of short and long trips that suits my budget.
Pick your destination wisely from that wish list according to your planned budget and date. If you have got a long list then I am sure you can find some places.
If you don't have wish list start creating one.
If no places suit your budget then select any place. I can assure that it won't let you down.

Book Your Flight
For the best deals, book your flight about two to three months in advance.
Check prices often and subscribe to notifications from apps or sites so that you can get updates regarding price drops, increase and offers.
Try to use your travel credit card and your sign-up bonus from famous travel apps.
Like if you have GoCash in GoIbibo account use it before it expires. If you are not going anywhere, help your friend to use it and maybe you can get a cut :P
If you don't have an account here is your INR 150 sing up bonus.
Book Your Accommodation
If you are going on a short trip, feel free to book accommodation for the entire duration. of your trip.
But if you are going to be traveling long-term, book just the first few days. Once you know the dates you’ll be in your destination, then you can book the rest.
If you are staying long term then comfort is important. when you don't like the bed, bathroom or Wifi isn't that good then you will have an option to change.
Booking.com and GoIbibo (especially in India) are the two best platforms for finding budget hotels and guesthouses.
This is how I plan. Hope this will also help you somehow.

Check for Public Holidays
Me after getting my leaves approved
When you are working in a corporate firm getting a long leave approved is quite troublesome.
That's why the first thing I check in a New Calendar is public holidays. They are the best for the weekend and short trips. Aim for that.
You can easily travel to your nearby places with a pocket-friendly budget.
Take 1-2 days off and make it a happening one.
Like 15th August 2019 (India) is on Thursday, take 2 days off before or 1 day after and pack your bag. I already planned.
